TOPEKA - Calvin T. Lambright, 87, of Topeka, died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at his residence.

He was born June 2, 1927, in LaGrange County to Tobias and Lizzie (Troyer) Lambright.

On Feb. 24, 1949, in Topeka, he married Ida Miller. She died Dec. 1, 2011.

Surviving are his son, Gary Lambright of Topeka; two daughters, Mary Etta Otto of Shipshewana and Ruth Ann Miller of Topeka; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Freeman Lambright of Middlebury and Harley Lambright of Topeka; a sister, Viola Miller of Topeka; two sisters-in-law, Anna Lambright of Topeka and Ada Lambright of Ava, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Eli Miller of Topeka.

Visitation will be all day Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the family's residence, 6405 W. 550 S. Topeka. A funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, also at the family's residence. The service will be conducted by Bishop David Miller and the home ministers.

Burial will be in Hawpatch Cemetery, Topeka.

Kevin Jon Lambright, 7, of Shipshewana, died on Saturday, May 3, from injuries sustained in an accident at his home. He was born on October 27, 2006, in LaGrange, to Amos Jay and Rose Mary (Fry) Lambright.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Daryl (special friend Izabelle Miller), and James (special friend Marlene
Mishler), both at home; two sisters, Jennifer and Eva Lambright, both at home; grandparents, Harvey Lambright of Topeka and Clarence & Polly Anna (Whetstone) Fry of Millersburg; great grandfather, John Whetstone of Topeka.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Derek Devon Lambright; stillborn twin sister, Carolyn Sue Lambright; grandmother, Fannie (Yoder) Lambright.

He was a first grade student at Meadow View Elementary School, Shipshewana.

Visitation will be after 12:00 pm on Monday, May 5 and all day Tuesday, May 6 at the family residence, 4915 N. 450 West, Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, May 7 at the Jerry Troyer residence, 4795 N. 450 West, Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Minister Marvin Kauffman and Home Ministers. Burial will be in Honeyville Cemetery, Topeka.

TOPEKA - Leland T. Lambright, 80, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22.

He was born April 27, 1934, in LaGrange County to Tobie and Lizzie (Troyer) Lambright.

On May 7, 1959, in LaGrange County he married Anna C. Miller.

Surviving are his wife; children Dorothy (Erwin Jay) Yoder, LaVerda (Cletus) Schwartz, Arlene (Richard) Miller, Betty (Vernon) Miller and Marvin (Erma), Ervin (Rhonda), Harley (Waneta) and Jerry (Edna) Lambright; 42 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and siblings Viola (John) Miller and Freeman (Susan), Calvin and Harley Lambright.

He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Ferman, Dale and Devon Lambright and siblings Orpha Bontrager, LeAnna Miller and Richard, Joas and Omer Lambright.

Leland was a farmer and gave carriage rides at the Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana. He was a member of Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be all day Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Jerry Lambright's home, 6800 W. 200 S., Topeka. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday Sept. 25, at the same home. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery.

Landis, Roy S., 76, of Blooming Glen, PA, [died] May 29, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 07, 1938 in Sellersville, PA to Ephraim & Mamie (Stover) Landis. He was the husband of Joan Y. (Derstine) Landis for 51 years. Roy was a lifetime member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, he served as historian and served on the cemetery committee. He served with the PAX service through Mennonite Central Committee in Algiers & Morocco from 1957-1959. Roy was a member and former director of the Mennonite Historians of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Survived by his wife Joan and a daughter, Cynthia Mast & husband, Michael of Harleysville, PA; a son, Brian Landis of Perkasie, PA; two granddaughters, Rachael Mast & fiancé, Elijah Hendricks of Harleysville, PA, Katelyn Mast of Harleysville, PA; two sisters, Gladys Grasse & husband, Meryl of Calico Rock, AR, Marian Martin & husband, John of Harrisonburg, VA and a Twin Brother, Ray S. Born March 25, 1940 in East Lampeter Township, he was the son of the late Sanford D. and Mary (Groff) Leaman. Dan attended Lancaster Mennonite High School. He began his career in construction in 1959 and worked as a carpenter for Jacob Habecker. He served two years IW Service in New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, worked as a field supervisor for Wickersham Construction for thirty-nine years.

Dan served on the boards for the Columbia Re-Uz-It Shop, Main Street Closet, Strasburg and the International House of Millersville and sang with the Singing Men of Praise for many years. He was a member of the New Danville Mennonite Church and served the congregation in many ways, S.S. Superintendent, S.S. Teacher, Trustee, Boys Club Leader, Youth Leader and as Deacon for seventeen years.

He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild at home and at the cabin in the mountains.

Dan also enjoyed puzzles, gardening, reading, hunting, woodworking and traveling. Dan made twenty-eight grandfather clocks and other pieces over the years, a great craftsman.

Also surviving are four children: Pauline married to Lee Godfrey, of Felton, Gordon Leaman married to Melissa Reynolds, of Lancaster, Kevin Leaman married to Rebekah Baum, of Mount Joy and Carol married to John Brubaker, of Newark, OH; nine granddaughters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter; seven siblings, Chester, Paul and Sanford Leaman, Anna Geib, Miriam Segerstrom, Ruth Nissley and Irene Shenk.

Dan's Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the New Danville Mennonite Church, 103 Marticville Road, Lancaster, PA 17603 on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2014 at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, SEPTEMBER 14, 2014 between 12 and 2:30 PM. Private interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery at the convenience of the family. Leatherman, Mary, 73, of Hatfield, PA; formerly of Telford, PA died May 1, 2014 at Souderton Mennonite Homes. She was born December 18, 1940 in Sellersville, PA to Samuel D. Leatherman and the late Ada B. (Lewis) Leatherman. Mary was a missionary in Red Lake, Canada for 13 years. She was a former member of Frederick Mennonite Church where she formerly served as Sunday school teacher & Vacation Bible school teacher. Mary was a member of Franconia Mennonite Church where she was part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry.

She is survived by three brothers, Clyde Leatherman of Telford, PA, David Leatherman & wife, Beverly of Souderton, PA, Ralph Leatherman & wife, Ann of Telford, PA and a sister, Nancy Leatherman of Hatfield, PA.

Paul Mensch Lederach

PAUL MENSCH LEDERACH Paul Mensch Lederach, 88, of Lansdale, PA and formerly of Scottdale, PA, died Monday, January 6, 2014 at Dock Terrace, Lansdale, PA. He was the husband of Mary Slagell Lederach, his wife of 62 years. Born July 28, 1925 in Norristown, PA, Paul was a son of the late Willis Kulp Lederach and Mary Mensch Lederach.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Judith L. Styer and husband, John, of Framingham, MA; James S. Lederach and wife, Louise, of Scottdale, PA; Deborah L. Gunden and husband, Randal, of Goshen, IN; and Rebecca S. Lederach of Ambler, PA; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Rittgers and husband, Philip, of Homosassa, FL and Mary Jane Hershey and husband, Hiram, of Harleysville, PA; and one brother, John M. Lederach and wife, Naomi, of Goshen, IN.

In the summer of 1944, at the age of 19, Paul was chosen by lot for the ministry, which forever altered the course of his life. On August 6, 1944, he was ordained as a minister for the Norristown Mennonite Mission (now Norristown New Life). In the years ahead, he served as pastor of the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church and a bishop and overseer for churches in the Franconia Conference. Paul graduated from Goshen College, Goshen College Biblical Seminary and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received a Doctor of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX. For many years Paul's work was based at the Mennonite Publishing House in Scottdale, PA. His work as the executive editor of the Foundation Series, a children's graded educational curriculum for the Mennonite church, was a significant accomplishment which recognized children in the gathering of the congregation and the imperative to share the Mennonite faith with them. During his years in Scottdale, he served on numerous church-wide boards.

Over the course of his life, Paul wrote numerous books, most notably, The Third Way (1980), a book that took a radical departure from commonly held notions about Jesus, the nature of the Kingdom, the church and salvation, and in 1994, Daniel (Believer Church Bible commentary Series) in which he presented the stories and dream-visions of Daniel with wisdom drawn from years of developing curriculum materials and teaching and preaching in the church.

In 1978, Paul took a hiatus from church work and formed the Westmor Insurance Service in Scottdale, reflecting "I am anxious to enter the business world and in that context do further theological reflection...too often many of those involved in the business world are not equipped to think theologically, while those so equipped are far removed from the business world."

Paul and Mary returned to Franconia Mennonite Conference in 1987. In the following years, he served as lead pastor at Franconia Mennonite Church (1987-1991), interim pastor at Zion Mennonite Church (1997-98), and Plains Mennonite Church (1998-99). In 2000, he was appointed as interim pastor at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church in Sarasota, FLA. Paul Mensch Lederach will be remembered as a gifted theologian, a bold and progressive thinker, a preacher, teacher, writer, and a loving compassionate, committed husband, father, sibling and friend.

Relatives and friends may call after 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Blooming Glen, PA 18911. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in the church columbarium. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale. MILLERSBURG - Devon Jay Lehman, 26, of Millersburg, died at 4:34 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the scene of an auto/bicycle accident on S.R. 13 in Millersburg.

He was born Jan. 11, 1988, in Goshen to Orva D. and Freda Mae (Miller) Lehman.

On May 29, 2009, in Topeka he married Leah J. Whetstone.

Survivors include his wife; sons Adrian Dale and Bryan Luke Lehman; his parents of Goshen; sisters Dorothy (Kenny) Eash and Sharon (Wayne) Bontrager, both of Topeka, Edna Mae Lehman and Joan Lehman, both at home; brothers Daniel Lehman, Nathan Lehman, Orva Lehman Jr. and Harley Lehman; and grandparents Harley and Wilma Miller of Goshen and Daniel and Ada Lehman of Shipshewana.

He was a member of Old Order Amish Church and worked at Forest River in Millersburg.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 14, and all day Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Wayne Bontrager's home, 68630 C.R. 43, Millersburg. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday Oct. 16, at Ernest Helmuth's home, 67490 C.R. 43, Millersburg. Burial will be in South Haven Cemetery in Millersburg.

ELKHART - Helen (Koster) Lehman, 93, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Since July 2008 she had been a resident of Hoosier Home Care in Elkhart, where she had been lovingly cared for by Sarah Kagondu, until recently moving to Eastlake.

Helen was born Sept. 14, 1921, in the town of Montague in Lewis County, New York, to Jacob and Paiza (Repak) Makuch. Prior to moving to Indiana in 2008, she had lived her whole life in Lewis County.

Helen graduated from Lowville Academy in 1937. While attending high school in Lowville she worked as a live-in caregiver for Flora and Frank Koster. Following Flora's death, Frank officially adopted Helen with the approval of her birth parents.

On Aug. 2, 1941, she married Merle Lehman in Lowville. They had been married for over 65 years at the time of Merle's death in July 2007.

Helen is survived by two sons, Merritt (Dierra) Lehman of Elkhart and Eric (Dawn) Lehman of Deer River, N.Y., and two daughters, Judy (Harvey) Polk of Natchitoches, La., and Jean (Richard) Stevens of Liverpool, N.Y. Helen had eight grandchildren including Gregory (Karen Yoder) Lehman of Goshen. All the other grandchildren, as well as 12 great-grandchildren, live in various other states. Helen was the fifth child in a family of 17 children of whom four brothers, Peter, William, Jacob and Joseph Makuch, and one sister, Alice Barnum, remain living in northern New York.

She and Merle operated a dairy farm in Deer River, N.Y., from 1945 to 1971. She had been employed as a medical assistant in the offices of physicians in Lowville, both prior to and after they left dairying. Beginning in the early 1980s and until Merle's death in 2007, they spent their winters in Harlingen, Texas.

Helen was a long-time member of First Mennonite Church of New Bremen, N.Y. Her ashes will be interred there. There will be no visitation at this time. A memorial service will be in Lewis County at a later date.

GOSHEN - Mary Shank Lehman, 93, died Thursday, Aug. 21, at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Orrville, Ohio, to Charles and Crissie (Yoder) Shank.

On June 8, 1946, she married Ernest W. Lehman. He died in March 2000.

Surviving are daughters Miriam (Whitney) Everest of Goshen and Suzan (Mike) Hutchison of Marion; four step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; sisters Lois (Glenn) Musselman of Goshen and Mary Kay (Howard) Snider of Florida; and sister-in-law Wilma Shank of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother Lydia Shank and siblings Ruth, Esther, David, Paul, Ernest and John Shank.

Mary was a 1943 graduate of Goshen College and served with her husband for 19 years with Mennonite Central Committee. Mrs. Lehman also taught at Jefferson Elementary for three years.

Friends may call Monday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A private family burial will precede the service at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery in Goshen.

Lehman, Mary Veronica Shank, 93, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died August 21, 2014 at the same place. She was born January 4, 1921 at Orrville, Wayne Co., Ohio to Charles and Crissie (Yoder) Shank. On June 8, 1946 she was married to Ernest W. Lehman, who died March 3, 2000.

Surviving are two daughters, Miriam (Whitney) Everest; and Suzan (Mike) Hutchison; four step-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Lois (Glenn) Musselman, and Mary Kay (Howard) Snider, and a sister-in-law, Wilma Shank.

Three sisters, Lydia Shank, Ruth Shank, and Esther Shank, and four brothers, David Shank, Paul Shank, Ernest Shank, and John Shank preceded her in death.

She served with her husband for 19 years with Mennonite Central Committee in Akron, Pa and overseas in Jordan with Palestinian refugees and the Congo.

GOSHEN - Reuel S. Lehman, 92, died Thursday afternoon, June 19, at the Maples at Waterford Crossing.

He was born July 19, 1921, in Kenmare, N.D., to Joseph and Stella (Sharp) Lehman.

On Aug. 9, 1946, he married Agnes M. Hershberger in Detroit. She died Feb. 20, 2010.

Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne (John) Rothchild of Miami and Judy (Michael) VanderMaas of Goshen; a son, Bruce (Tonda) Lehman of Goshen; four grandchildren, Blake (Lindsay) Lehman, Patrick Linn, Haley Linn and Rhonda Williams; two step-grandchildren, Troy VanderMaas and Stephanie Hershberger; three great-grandsons; four sisters, Mary Handrich of Grand Marais, Mich., Genevieve Buckwalter of Goshen, Ethel (Daniel) Slabaugh of Sturgis, Mich., and Josephine Swartzendruber, Rocky Ford, Colo.; and a brother, David Lehman of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Barbara Lehman; a granddaughter, McKenna Lehman; and a twin sister, Ruth Buller.

Reuel was a graduate of Fairview High School, Fairview, Mich. He worked as a representative for Mennonite Property Aid Association for 20 years. He also was employed at Goshen College, working on plumbing and heating maintenance. He was a member of College Mennonite Church, where he volunteered in various capacities, along with serving as a Red Coat with Goshen General Hospital.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church, where there will be a 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, prayer service prior to burial in Violett Cemetery. Following burial, a 10:30 a.m. Tuesday memorial service will be in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. Pastor Pamela Yoder will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be directed to College Mennonite Church or Evening Exchange Club of Goshen.

Lehman, Reuel S., 92, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died June 19, 2014 at the same place. He was born July 19, 1921 at Kenmare, North Dakota to Joseph and Stella (Sharp) Lehman. On August 9, 1946 in Detroit, MI he was married to Agnes M. Hershberger, who was born September 2, 1920 and died February 20, 2010.

Wilbur R. Lehman, 66, of Shipshewana, died at 1:00 pm on Sunday, May 4, at his
residence. He had been in declining health. He was born on October 8, 1947, in
Nottawa Township, MI, to Amos J. and Lizzie Ann (Hochstetler) Lehman. On June 4,
1970, in LaGrange, he married Lizzie E. Miller, she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Sarah (Kenneth) Miller and Ruby (Dennis) Lambright, both of Shipshewana; six sons, John (Esther Marie) Lehman of Shipshewana, Richard Lehman, Dennis (Margaret) Lehman, Paul Lehman all of Middlebury, David Lehman of Sarasota, FL, and Ervin (Carolyn) Lehman of Shipshewana; 17 grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Miller of Kalona, IA, Verna (Al) Kuhns of Shipshewana, and Freda (Sam H.) Bontrager of Colon, MI; three brothers, Ervin (Jane) Lehman of TN, Mahlon (Annie Marie) Lehman of Goshen, and Alvin (Inez) Lehman of Shipshewana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jay Dee Lehman; a stillborn brother; and brother-in-law, Manas Miller.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 1:00 pm on Monday, May 5 and all day Tuesday, May 6 at the family residence, 8860 W. 450 North, Shipshewana.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, May 7, also at the family
residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Erwin C. Miller and the home
ministers. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery, Shipshewana.

GOSHEN - Magdalene "Maggie" Liechty, 83, passed away in her home on Monday, Aug. 18, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Berne on June 19, 1931, to Estella (Moser) and Marcus Lehman and lived in Berne until August of 2007 when she moved to Goshen. She was the youngest of four children, having twin brothers, the late Ronald and Donald Lehman, and a living sister, Berneda Harb Hart of Lexington, Va.

On Aug. 26, 1950, she married her grade school sweetheart, Fredrick H. Liechty. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2012. Together they were active in the Mennonite Church and were committed to showing God's love in concrete ways.

She was a former member of First Mennonite Church in Berne, and current member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church in Goshen and closely affiliated with Emmaus Road Mennonite Fellowship in Berne.

Surviving are two children, Nancy (Jake) Liechty Loewen and Mary (Doug) Liechty-Caskey, both of Goshen; four grandchildren, Emma (Alex) Dugger of Goshen, Nick (Jana) Loewen of San Francisco, Calif., and Jesse Loewen and Alex Caskey, both of Goshen; and a great-grandchild, Elliott Dugger.

Despite being housebound for 30 years, Maggie remained vitally involved with her family, her many friends and the world. Her deep spirituality and compassion connected her to others as a counselor, confidante and advocate. A keen curiosity and agile mind pushed her to read and correspond widely. During her last year of life, caregivers Roxanne, Linda and Mary went beyond the call of duty and became like family to her.

A service of remembering, honoring and celebrating Maggie's life will be held at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to Mennonite Mission Network or Mennonite Disaster Service.

GOSHEN - Gladys M. Leinbach, 89, died Friday evening, Jan. 3, 2014, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, where she had been since Tuesday.

She was born April 8, 1924, in Goshen to Harvey and Grace (Culp) Stichter.

She married Lloyd G. Leinbach on Nov. 11, 1945. He died Dec. 4, 2011.

Gladys is survived by two sons, Glenn (Vera) Leinbach of Elkhart and Carl (Dove) Leinbach of Goshen; two daughters, JoAnn (Richard) Schrock of Goshen and Ruth Bolden of Sandy, Ore.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother Robert (Harriet) Stichter of Milford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister Elsie Ramer.

A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Goshen High School in 1943. She worked at Side Board Restaurant in Elkhart and Goshen Sale Barn.

A homemaker, Gladys was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, made hundreds of quilts, quilted for Quilt Designs, and recently made baby quilts for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).

Visitation for Gladys will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, and for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, funeral service at the church.

Pastors Wes Bontreger and Harold Yoder will officiate. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to MCC, Sharing with Appalachian People, for projects in West Virginia.

He was a part-time farmer in the Hopedale area and worked full-time at Pepper Maintenance Systems in Minier, IL. He was an avid University of Illinois sports fan and volunteered at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, IL

For many years she led a Bible study at the Hopedale Nursing Home and volunteered at the Hopedale Hospital gift shop.

HESSTON, Kan. - Frances M. Luther, 88, of Hesston, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 9, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.

She was born May 20, 1925, to William and Anna (Bechler) Birky near Minier, Ill., and grew up near Kouts, Ind.

She married Charles Walter (Walt) Whitmer of Carlock, Ill., on June 17, 1950, and they lived in Illinois and Colorado. He died Oct. 3, 1968.

On Aug. 11, 1974, she married Martin R. Luther, and lived with him in Florida and Arizona before they moved back to Kouts in 1996. He died on Feb. 17, 1999.

Since the death of Fran's second husband she moved to Wakarusa, Ind., then to the Newton/Hesston area.

Fran was a homemaker and also did the bookkeeping for the business that she and her first husband owned in Colorado. Church life was very important to her. She sought out a church fellowship in each place she moved, and had various positions at these churches. She enjoyed extending hospitality to strangers and friends alike, taking in foster children, teaching neighborhood bible studies and volunteering her time in the community.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands C. Walter Whitmer and Martin R. Luther; a son, Gerald Whitmer; three brothers, Thomas, Ray and Lee Birky; two sisters, Bonita Schrag and Margaret Bless; and one stepson, Fred Luther.

Frances is survived by two daughters, Virginia (Lowell) Nunemaker of Wakarusa and Karen (Ron) Bachman of Newton; one son, Lyle (Cindy) Whitmer of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters, Barbara Hartzler of Cable, Ohio, and Vera Urschel of Lake City, Fla.; one brother, James (Erma) Birky of Greentown, Ind.; four stepchildren, Betty Jennings, Vera Kirby, Richard Luther and Gene Luther; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. CDT Monday, April 14, at Open Door Fellowship, 636 Baums Bridge Road, Kouts, with Pastor BJ Leichty, of Holdeman Mennonite Church of Wakarusa officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the church prior to the service, starting at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Kouts.

Luther, Frances M. Birky, 88, of Hesston, Harvey Co., KS died April 9, 2014 at the same place. She was born May 20, 1925 at Minier, IL. On August 11, 1974 he was married to Martin Luther, who died February 17, 1999.

Surviving are children, Virginia (Lowell) Nunemaker, Karen (Ron) Bachman, Lyle (Cindy) Whitmer; four stepchildren: Betty Jennings, Vera Kirky, Richard Luther and Gene Luther; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Barbara Hartzler and Vera Urshel, and a brother, James (Emma) Biky.

Her first husband, Charles Whitmer, whom she married on June 17, 1950, preceded her in death October 3, 1968. A son, Gerald Whitmer, three brothers, Thomas, Ray and Lee Birky, two sisters, Bonita Schrag and Margaret Bless, and a stepson, Fred Luther, also predeceased her.

Two brothers, Elwoods C. Lyndaker and Warren Lyndaker, and a sister, LaJune Lehman, preceded him in death.

Mr. Lyndaker completed 13 AIB courses, Banker's School of Agriculture, and Banker's School of Executive Development. He served in the US Army in Germany from 1954-1955.

Kermit worked at First Trust and Deposit Co., in Syracuse, before working for National Bank of NNY as farm manager, and then Clayton bank manager. Mr. Lyndaker was a co-owner of Reinman's Furniture and Department Store in Clayton. He was employed by Farm Credit as manager in Canton, before beginning his tenure with Community Bank, N.A. as Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer in Canton. Mr. Lyndaker retired from Community Bank on June 30, 1994.

In every community where he lived, Kermit was active in several organizations, most recently at the American Maple Museum, the Croghan Lions Club, several church committees, and the Brookside Board of Directors.

Kermit also enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and maple syrup production. He also enjoyed golfing, making cherry and maple furniture, and playing cards with his family.

Mr. Lyndaker was a member of the First Mennonite Church, New Bremen.

Memorial services were held September 20, 2014 at First Mennonite Church of New Bremen New Bremen, NY.
